The heat treatment of high pressure carbon steel pipe is a process to improve the properties of metal materials and their products.According to different purposes, the material and its workpiece are heated to the appropriate temperature, heat preservation, and then with different methods of cooling, change its internal organization, in order to obtain the required performance. The heat treatment of steel is usually divided into annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, failure and chemical heat treatment and vacuum heat treatment.By heat treatment, the service life or life of the steel can be improved and, in some cases, cheaper general metal materials can be substituted for more expensive special materials.
The basic methods of steel tube heat treatment include annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering and their combination forms. For the determination of the specific process system, please refer to the heat treatment process section in chapter 7.
1.High pressure carbon steel pipe annealing
Annealing is a process in which steel tubes are heated to a slightly higher or lower critical temperature, kept warm for a period of time, and then slowly cooled. The common annealing processes are: diffusion annealing, complete annealing, isothermal annealing, spheroidizing annealing, incomplete annealing, recrystallization annealing and stress relief annealing.
2.High pressure carbon steel pipe normalizing
Is a fire which is also called "often", is on the steel is heated to the critical point (Ac3 or Acm) more than 40 ~ 60 ℃ or higher temperature, to achieve the organization's complete austenitizing and uniformity, and then released, and even in the natural circulation of air cooling process.
Compared with annealing process, normalizing process has the characteristics of rapid cooling, fine material structure, improved mechanical properties, short production cycle, high equipment utilization rate and low cost.
3.High pressure carbon steel pipe quenching
Quenching is a process by which steel is heated to a suitable temperature, kept warm, and then rapidly cooled (usually in water, oil, or air) so that the supercooled austenite becomes martensite.Generally used to improve the hardness and strength of parts, or to change its physical and chemical properties (such as electrical conductivity, magnetic, corrosion resistance, etc.).General quenching methods include single liquid quenching, double liquid quenching, fractional quenching and isothermal quenching.
4.High pressure carbon steel pipe tempering
Tempering is a heat treatment process in which the hardened steel is heated to a temperature below the critical point Ac1 and then cooled to room temperature after being kept warm.It is the necessary process after quenching steel parts, and is the last process of heat treatment. The purpose of tempering is to improve the plasticity and toughness of hardened steel, reduce and eliminate the quenching stress, and stabilize the structure and the size and shape of the workpiece.Air cooling is usually used after tempering, but rapid cooling is used for alloy steels showing high tempering brittleness. The tempering process can be divided into low tempering, medium tempering and high tempering.
